Best Anti Virus / Spam / Spyware
The biggest threats to our modern PCs are virus and spyware. While still a problem, viruses infections appear to be slowing, but the spyware is rapidly increasing. The line between virus and spyware is blurring more each day.
What are Computer Viruses and Spyware? For the most part, a computer virus is defined as a program that replicates itself and eats up computer memory and other resources. The goal of a virus is usually to do damage to random computers by deleting or corrupting files. There really is no direct financial incentive for the virus writer.
Spyware on the other hand is designed specifically for financial gain. Like a virus, Spyware attempts to replicate itself as often as possible, and takes great steps to hide its presence. The main difference however, is that Spyware records, and/or transmits information from your computer to other locations for the purpose of reveling private information. Some of the worst spyware will capture every key you press on your keyboard and send that information off to people in Russia, China, or other countries far from the reach of U.S. law enforcement. If you make any on-line purchases, pay bills, or log into your financial institution for any reason, the user names and passwords you've used are recorded and sent off-shore in the blink of an eye.

For example, the spyware watches what items you search for on-line, then uses these items to select ads to display on your web browser or to send to your email address (SPAM). Sales and marketing is a multi-billion dollar market and the more specific an ad campaign can be, the more effect and valuable it is.
